Really the scoop is that I was still kind of peeved that I didn't get to see David Gray when he was in 'sota, so I decided to make a side trip to London to see him. It was well worth it!!
Easily the best show I've been to. The quality of the singing/music was equal to, if not better than that on album. I get really disappointed when I hear a band live and they sound NOTHING like to their recordings, and there are a lot of them out there.
Anyone out there have a horror story or two about a bad live band?

Pub Crawls...the work of satan
I'm still in Amsterdam and will be until Tuesday.
So, whoever thought up the idea of the "pub crawl" was a deranged lunatic (or just maybe just from WI) pictures soon to come.
The evening began with shots of a strange vodka concoction that was force-fed to us at an alarming pace. At every one of the 5 bars, we got a free shot of Jag (John, this would almost be heaven for you...almost cuz there's no bud light) Needless to say, it was quite an intoxicating experience. I spent most of the night hanging with some tall German guy named Franz.
Flash forward to the end of the night where I end up walking around Amsterdam completely lost. I'm pretty sure that was a good 2 to 3 hour excursion. At least I got in some cardio. I gave up on try and ending up just getting a taxi. Money well spent.

Jack and Dustin go to White Castle...
I met a few peeps from Australia and we acted as enablers for each other. Thursday night we decided that it was a good idea to reenact that classic movie. The difference being that we were craving the delectable treats that could only be offered at an asian buffet. Unfortunately this food was far the level of White Castle. I was quite thankful to make it out without a case of food poisoning.
The weirdest/creepiest part of the whole experience was that as we started the buffet, I heard incessant meowing. It only lasted about 30 seconds... someone must have feed him...yeah, that's it.

first day highlights/lowlights
Flight:
Highlight- I was dreading this since I had the older, robust woman on my left and a 6 month old baby on my right...thankfully the baby slept almost the whole time.
Lowlight- Having a super nose and being in an enclosed area.
Train/Tram:
Highlight- It was cheap.
Lowlight- Trying to figure out directions in dutch is quite "interesting"
The Bar in the Hostel:
Highlight- 1 Euro shots of Jag
Lowlight- 5 Euro small beers
